93 Civic HB w/h22 swap vs. Prelude with minor mods?

I was just wondering, after the summer is over, and i can get an h22 put in the civic, what kinda cars will i be able to run after? Will i be able to handle a Prelude with like an intake and exhaust or maybe a stock civic si? Just a list of cars, and maybe a guesstimation at the amount of wheel HP on my civic would be nice, any comments, just post them. Oh yeah, and i can live without A/C, but is there any way to save the power steering??!?!?

No way duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuude. You won't be able to handle a B16 with your H22. The H22 is too small for the civic anyway, get a D15B. You'll have more torque and HP in higher RPMs if you put in the D15B. The one less OHC will totally drop your car's weight and you'll be alot lighter, thus faster. I'll sell you mine for a lot cheaper than you can get an H22 for. Think about it maaaan, it's cheaper, it's faster and you'll get better gas milage.

Oh please. By a show of hands, who on this forum actually thinks that an H22 can beat my stock SOHC d15b? Seriously, get the D15B. Just think about the possibilities of one less cam!

Hey MunG35, I'll trade you my civic for your TL. I'll add a set of altezzas just to make your decision easier.

See what I'm saying? This guy knows what he's talking about. The H22 came out of a 4 door family sedan. The D15B came out of the new NSXs. I don't think I wanna trade anymore. I'll give you my injectors and the timing belt for the H22, but that's as low as I can go.

you should be able to hand a prelude his ass pretty easily. the prelude is pretty heavy in respects to a civic. the motor in a civic with basic bolt ons is capable of 13sec 1/4mile runs. i have ran one h22 civic with my car (stats below) and i need the sauce to really run him./

Re: 93 Civic HB w/h22 swap vs. Prelude with minor mods?

I thought the h22 had 200hp stock? If i'm wrong, tell me, and i thought all D-series sohc motors were all way under 200. I know the b16a motors have about 160 or something right? So why wouldn't my car be fast enough to beat a prelude which has like the same HP, but is heavier? I'm not asking for a sarcastic answer, i just wanna know the outcome.

they are shitting on you,i hope anyways. your civic with h22 will walk on a prelude. i can beat preludes in my hb with a b18c1 without nitrous so i am sure yours could. just do yourself a favour and swap it, and stop asking dumb e-racing questions. just do it, race a lude and tell us how it went
