93 Ford Escort Headlight issues!

Howdy all,
Though i would try to tap a source that might be helpful in my diagnosis. We have a big issue with the headlights on this 93 Escort Waggon. The head lights work but pop a fues shorly after installed (Not right away though) The motor pulls down bad and sometimes it stalls it. The turn singles do not work unless the headlights are on, and i have found a tosted wire right by the HL relay. (Brown and red stripe i think) I know this is probaly be a complex prob and am not looking for a magic fix! BUT i am wondering if this is a prob that any have had in the past and have any pointers for me.....since i dont have a wireing diagram as of yet!!!! (Cant find one in this dang town! ) Thanks for the info in advance and ill be sure to return the fav. in the future! Thanks!

first place i'd go is ur alternator, right after replacing that and any other bare wires.

Did the same with a new alt in it.......this sucks....and we put a fuse in the Gauge slot of the fues box and the headlights came on...and stayed on....Did i add that the head light fues under the hood was not installed?!! I need to find a wireing diagram!!!
