Door Locks and oil sensor

I have two problems that crept up recently. One is the door locks on my 99 Explorer Sport. The key won't work in the passenger door and I have to jiggle the key when I unlock the driver's door. When I open the passenger's door using the driver's side switch, the motor will open the door instantly, or I'll hear a whirring noise as the lock unlocks the door. When I read Chilton's they were positive on the door locks rarely failing and didn't give much info.
The other problem is the oil pressure sensor guage. On cold days or when the truck hasn't been run for a day or two, the guage needle will not move to the normal operating position until I have driven for a few miles. I suspect the oil pressure sensor and would like to replace it. Any help would be appreciated on how I do this.

Re: Door Locks and oil sensor

If you have a second key try that. If you use the same key, it'll wear out a bit. Get some lock graphite and spray some in keyhole of both locks and insert and remove key 4-5 times, this helps lubricate the tumblers in the lock. Don't use WD-40. If you don't have a spare/second key and you were the original owner - did you keep the keycode tags? If yes get new one made from locksmith. If you're original owner and didn't keep the keycode tags, go back to your selling dealer service dept and have them look it up for you, call first to see if they can do this.

Jim, replace your oil pressure switch with 1U5Z-9278-DA about $7 at Ford Dealer. The switch is located on left front lower part of engine block
I just replaced mine
