what to buy. my first time

hey guys, i am getting hooked on these rc cars.

what should i get, im on a budget. i only want some thing that goes around 40 kph,(20-30 mph). im on a tight budget. and im gonna race with my cousing and friends, and they only got a car that goes around 40 k's. so what do i get. can any one tell me what to get. i want gas. and is possible, nitrous version.

my budget is under 300 australian dollars. thats arounf 150-200 bucks US dollars i think. some thing which i can buy add on different car body shells. and the normal stuff. no electric. real gas.

and also my cousins one, when u slow down, the car stops. and u have to start it up again. not sure what he got, but whn i watch video clips of other peoples r/c cars, they slow down and go on again with out having to start up the car again. is there some thing wrong or is his on ejust crappy.
thanks

Well you are thinking of getting Nitro. That really isn't real gas but it is special for RC use only. There are a few RTR that are good for you. One is the Team Associated TC3 RTR. Here. It is around $420 in AUD. But it is the quickest you could get. Plus the nicest too. Do your friends have Nitro too. If so ask them to break it in for you with you around too.

You can change the body all the time. Electric are 190mm so you need to use those bodys and then Nirtos are 200mm. Electric are quiter. You need to have batterys and a charger to use them. And they are cheaper. Check out the drifting thread up the top of the page. Has a bunch of information about elec cars.

Re: what to buy. my first time

Ok lets learn some things. The name of them are Nitro cars. Not nitrous. You must break in the motor for a few tanks. This includes running the motor for a few tanks of gas al low speeds and breaking in the motor. Getting the internal parts fitting right. But you friend already know this. You would need right away gas. 10% or 20%. what ever you going to use. The right glow plugs. You are going to mess up as few. A starter box to start the car if it doesn't have an pull cord. Then you are going to need the filter cleaner stuff. I forget the name. And then after run oil. You stick that were the glow plug goes. And then the rest of the stuff comes with the car. Like small tools to take apart the car to clean and fix small things.
