r32 vs. TypeS

Hey just saw a Volkswagen R32 out here in the parking lot and was wondering if an Acura TypeS would own it or just keep up with it. I read some specs - weighs 700lbs more, but has about 40hp more and ~100 more torque. Has anyone raced the two to compare.

Just wondering.

Re: r32 vs. TypeS

i think the R32 would take the rsx-s in a straightline race. 240hp vs 200hp and an easy torque advantage for the VW. the numbers speak for themselves.

RSX-type S 1/4 is in high 14's and averages low 15's at 94mph

R32 averages 14 flat at 99mph

The R32 should have no problems with an Acura RSX Type S, stock for stock. You mentioned more power and torque, but it also has AWD. Now I'm not sure if the R32 is worth it's price ($29,000+), but it does handle and brake very well, and should out accelerate a RSX Type S from a stop or roll. Now if we were talking RSX (Integra in Japan and Europe) Type R, then that would be a much better comparison and I would have to give it to the Type R. Why doesn't Honda bring that car over????

Ahh, I was not aware of the 4WD. Very nice indeed. I figured that it would take the TypeS so I guess I'll just have to keep the revs to a minimum when I pull up next to one.

Yeah, sucks about the TypeR! We need them over here to take this R32.
