Spark Plugs For 733i (1983)?
I purchased my teenage daughter this car and with a little work it runs great. My loacal Import parts dealer said htis car needs the Bosch Silver spark plugs (wich are a bit expensive; about $9.00each). Is there another type of plug that can be used and give the same performance?
Also I am not able to reset the OBC (On Board Computer) , it keeps polling. Is there a way to test it to dertemine if it is good or how can I reset it ? The last 7 digits of the VIN are 7853203. Thanks for your advice in advance |

Re: Spark Plugs For 733i (1983)?
The BMW parts catalog calls for Bosch WR9LS spark plugs. Also, if you go to the Bosch website they probably have 2-3 options for your car, though it's a little hard to navigate as I recollect. Here's the link to the Bosch website:
http://www.boschusa.com/home.asp For the OBC problem, try to disconnect the battery for a few minutes so that it'll reset when you hook it back up. If your car has a radio code you'll need to know it in order to get the radio going again. |

The only plugs you should use are Bosch WR9LS.If you do a little shoping around you can find them for aprox. $6.00. They last for aprox.
25,000 miles . Any other plugs will cause a rough idle and stalling. You shold also NOT use any anti-seize compond as this will cause a heat transfer problem. Mark Baker |
