Hello... I have a 2000 GMC Jimmy and when i use the turn signals, the daytime running lights go out. is this a safety feature? if anyone could help out that would be great. Thanks, Bob

Yes, this is a safety feature. By having the DRLs turn off, it allows for the turn signal itself to be more easily seen. My 1999 Jimmy has this as well.

I have a 2000 Jimmy and mine does the same as well. All you have to do to turn off the DTR lights is to press the dome override button between 4 and 6 times and you will hear a chime, like the door open, and the lights will cut off. You have to do this every time you start your truck but it it alot better than your lights cutting off when you put your turn signal on, Also if you want to turn the lights back on auto just do the same thing.
