Paintball - Why Not?

I really want a paintball gun, but my dad won't let me. I honestly don't see what the problem he has with them is. As my friends and I regard them, they are a superficial fun, activity. But, he views it as an emulation of war, and it will desensitze us to violence and what not. Come on, its not like we're gonna grow up to become serial killers or anything..... well, most of my friends have gotten markers, and basically the only thing they're gonna do this summer is paintball and, naturally, if I don't have a marker i won't be able to participate.

how could I convince my dad to let me get a marker?

Well, I was in the same boat as you, my parents didnt want me "having a weapon" what you really need to say to them is, Look, mom, dad, this is a game, it will allow me to exhale my anger in an unviolent way, without harming anyone. Would you really like me to be one of those kids that goes to school with an AK-47 and a trench coat? Probably not. Try going into a convienience store and look for a paintball magazine, bring it home to your parents and say, If you really care about me, please read this. The paintball magazines make damn sure to prove that this is a recreational game, and not violent at all. Paintball is also a great way to socialize and good excercise.

Just tell your parents, if they dont allow you to have one, you are just going to hide it from them anyways, so what difference does it make?

for the thing about being 18 to buy one? do you know anyone of that age? do your friends have older sisters or brothers, if not, just go into walmart and hunt down someone that looks 18 and offer them 5 bucks to pretend to be your brother and buy you a paintball gun
