1992 Jimmy cuts out during acceleration

I have a 1992 Jimmy with 185,000 miles and an automatic transmission. Sometimes when I accelerate, the power cuts out for about a second, there is a clicking noise that I can feel, and the RPM's drop. This is only for a second or two and then power is restored. Usually this will happen in clusters, I will lose power for a second, have it back for a few seconds, then it cuts out again--this goes on for about 10-20 seconds and then usually everything is back to normal. This loss of power only happens sometimes and started recently. There is never a loss of power when the engine is idling or when I am coasting. I am assuming this has something to do with the fuel pump or spark plugs? Any help is greatly appreciated!!
