1999 Ford ZX2

I have a 1999 Ford ZX2.The person i bought the car from cut the strut springs to lower the car.I want to replace with the original strut springs. The backs were no problem. The fronts i just can't seem to get them to line up with the lower bolts.Strut with new springs are now to long.I hope someone can give me a suggestion. Thanks for your time.Mike [email protected]
