New Car Decisions
I've been debating on getting another car, and maybe trade in the Thunderturd. Price has to below 3 grand, must be a good daily driver, and something i can take to the track on weekends. Also must be durable, as i live on a dirt road. So heres my choices.
1-1984-1992 Lincoln Mark VII PROS:Ultimate Sleeper with EFI 5.0 HO CONS:Can have troublesom suspension bits. 2-1983-1992 Camaro Z28 PROS: Its a Camaro.... CONS: 305. Constant ridicule for driving a mullet machine. 3-1989 Taurus SHO PROS: 5 Speed 4 door sedan?! HELL YEA! CONS: Rarity of 5 speed. Front wheel drive. 4-1983-1992 Pontiac Firebird PROS: Beautiful styling CONS: See #2 5-1987-1993 Mustang LX PROS: Another nice sleeper CONS: See #4 6-Mid 80's Lincoln Town Car PROS: Big Pimpin' CONS: Weight + See #1 7-MKIII Toyota Supra PROS: Love the Supra. Always will. CONS: Couldnt afford a Turbo Supra. 8-1G Eclipse/Talon PROS: Not turned into rice as much CONS: DSM is out of the question... 9-Dodge Daytona Turbo PROS: I've always like its styling CONS: Reliability. 10-Late 80's Acura Integra GSR PROS: Maybe i would own the first real "clean" Integra around my area? CONS: Not a true Honda lover, but still on my list.

Re: New Car Decisions
that is a very diverse list. you have american cars on one hand and japanese cars on the other. personally, i would go with the supra. i would go with the firebird out of the american cars.

Shhhhh, you can't say anything wrong with a Dodge or Chrysler. It has to be "Cons: NONE!"
And I'm not allowed to say how everyone I know with Chryslers ended up with a lemon! just kidding with you polygon, haha. Why don't you fill in the "cons" category? And "None" is not an acceptable answer!

"Well, the same could be said for you and Ford."
Uhhhhh, you really think so? I've never generally supported Ford, I've never supported a Ford with less than a V8. I've even included the Ford Focus in the ugliest car thread in the cars I love, cars I hate forum. I've never claimed the Mustang to be a good performer. I've never claimed the Mustang to be the fastest in it's class, because it's not, and Camaro's are faster. I've recommended cars from Infinity, I've drooled over the MB SL500 multiple times on these forums. I've expressed my views that Aston Martins are the king of luxury cars. I've concured with someone who said old 4-cylinder Mustangs were complete and utter crap. (not to mention ugly) I know you're joking, and I know you don't think your car is the best car in the world either, just want to make sure you don't really think that about me. You DO recommend it everytime someone asks for advice though, lol.

![]() I do recommend Chrysler a lot, and I do have a bias towards a lot of their cars, but there are plenty others that I would recommend as well. It just depends on what they are looking for. For instance, I think that most any car on his list, besides the Town Car, would make great cars. Chrysler is just my first choice, but not my only choice. |

Re: New Car Decisions
Well, depends, I'm not really familiar with many of those American cars, but I'd reccomend an E30 BMW 3 series; 50:50-ish weight distribution, solid and reliable. However I'm not sure about the parts/maintenence network for them in America, however over here parts are common and most garages seem to be able to fix them.
Of course you could always put an SR20DET or 13B in there.........

Re: New Car Decisions
The only reason i said that the mopar has some relaibilty problems was because i owned an 87 Dodge Caravan. Thing rattled like a mofo! It was slow (well, okay, it did have the 4 banger..NON TURBO!) and always needed some sort of work.

Re: New Car Decisions
I think Moss is onto a good one with the E30 BMW, but from your proposed list, I'd have the Supra......Or the Daytona, I suppose.

How come Camarossboy has a T-bird for a signature and avatar??
Just kidding man. Polygon. Anyway, I'm not sure about the car you own Polygon, but for the family oriented vehicles Chryslers make, I do notice a lot of reliability problems. I know a lot of people who own Chryslers, including my father, none of them the one you have in your sig and you recommend a lot, and they basically all have mechanical problems and nothing they do can fix them completely. But they are cars like the town and country and crap like that... |

I don't know, all my family has owned are Chryslers and we've never had problems with any of them that weren't driver caused. Just my experience and that is why I stick with them like glue. However, to each his own. I know that no car company can turn out a perfect product and Chrysler has had their share of problems.
