Question ever seen a convertible hatch?

well i wrecked my 89 honda hatchback about a week ago last saturday and me and my dad decided were gunna chop off the top,put a rollbar, cut the doors down some and put a 12 inch windshield on it..... now those were my dadas ideas..... after he does that i wanna swap like a b16 or something into it and throw sum body kits with like 16's or somethin..... its a project.... but its one of a kind. he's just afraid that the fram will bow when we cut the top but we wont know till we do it. we were just gunna junk it but i decided we should do something crazy instead... what do you think?????????

Re: ever seen a convertible hatch?

Reinforce the body on the under side of the car. You can put 2" I beams under the car next to the current body rails. Thats what they do with the baltis civic conversion. BTW the conversion is a convertable hatch. But it looks like ass.

Re: ever seen a convertible hatch?

Ya I know just cant get away from Imagestation.
Oh ya this hatch is now falling apart, this was one for the first Prototypes of the kit and the fiberglass it was made of was bad or too thin. Not sure but the paint is now cracked in about 300 places and it just sits in a garage getting shit thrown on top of it. The b16 was pulled out of it about 8 months ago and there it sit all focked up. Also you can see the side windows never lined up either it leaked in the rain and when washed.
