Re: 2000 gc battery problem?
I recently had the same problem. The dealer had identified the problem as the battery not producing enough voltage. Even though the battery was not that old (about 1 year) it was a cheapo for my V8. Another problem could be something electrical that drains that battery also. The dealer found an A/C vent module that gets stuck when car is off.

Do you have top posts or side posts on your battery? My 95 has top post and I have to keep it clean constintly. I take the clamps off of the posts and the wires out of the clamps and clean them with sand paper. Put it all back together and its fine. My jeep is the first vehicle that I've ever had such a problem with. Try cleaning the posts and the wires, then put some grease on them might make all the difference.

Re: 2000 gc battery problem?
Yes, many thanks! I have top posts. I will keep this technique in mind. I also think the battery I purchased from one of those dept. stores were not high-quality enough to power the 4.7L V-8 2000 GC model past 1.5 years of use.

Get an Optima Red Top battery, that should do the trick
