Post Service Engine Soon On after I changed Sparkplugs

I just replaced the plugs in my 2000k Chevy 1500 with a 4.8 8 cyl Engine with 55K miles and the light came on and it has a rough Idle. I checked all the wires on all are secure.

Is there a engine reset like for the oilchange ?

The new plugs are Bosch Platinum 4 Link - >

http://www.boschusa.com/AutoParts/Sp...PlatinumPlus4/

I looked in the Manual and it just says change at 100K mi and it gives part #.

*** IT ALSO SAYS ITS AN EMMISION SERVCE ***

Thanks

why would you change plugs at 55k. never use the bosch or you are asking for trouble. possible cracked plug causing it to run rough.

Re: Service Engine Soon On after I changed Sparkplugs

The only way to tell is to isolate the misfiring cylinder. You take a wire loose from the plug (leaving it on loosely) crank it up and pull the wire off (with some kind of insulated pliers) and see if the engine RPMs change or the engine misses worse. If it does move on to the next one until you have isolated the dead cylinder. The easy way would be to hook up a scan tool and read misfire data. Codes if you have a code reader are :PO301 is cyl#1, PO302 is cyl#2 get it??

Well you just wasted time and money!
I would reinstall the old plugs and see if the skip goes away....then the next time you want to put that Bosch crap in your truck, save yourself some time and just send me the money

probable senerio is that you may have cracked a plug during installation or you got a bad plug.

I use and recommend A/C Delco plugs and wires to my customers.
I also do not recommend replacing plugs unless there is a driveability issue that can be resolved with plug replacement or until the manufactors recommended service interval.
Plus I have seen alot of driveability issues caused by some of the aftermarket plugs out there....don't trust them..don't use them.
