1994 Freeze Plug Install
Yesterday my '94 pickup overheated. Today I checked the oil to make sure I didn't blow a head gasket and the oil appears to be fine. Since there was no water in the radiator I began to fill it up to make sure there were no blown radiator hoses and discovered a leak on the drivers side of the engine underneath the tin heatshield. Once I removed the heatshield I could see a steady stream of water coming out from an area on the block directly below the exhaust manifold. A friend of mine believes it is a blown freeze plug. Does this sound right and if indeed that is the problem how difficult is it to fix? Thanks!

Re: 1994 Freeze Plug Install
I had a similar situation recently and it turned out to be the head gasket. Never had to replace any expansion plugs before, good luck and let us know how things are going.
