4ws obsolete?
sup guys, i was having a debate with my brother, and we were discussing the handling of various cars. Then we got to the topic of s2000 vs a 300zx na. Ive always had the impression that the s2k had amazing handling as did the 300zx. He insisted that the 4ws or hicas for the nissans gave the 300zx an edge over the s2k.....i understand how 4ws works and but if it was so effective how come all the current cars dont have 4ws, and why dont any of those super cars use 4ws either. Thanks guys

Re: 4ws obsolete?
S2000 has BETTER handling than 300zx. Much much better. In fact, it has handling comparable to a handful of elite European roadsters. S2000 does not have 4WS however.

I think they stopped 4WS because repair is too much of a hassle.

Re: 4ws obsolete?
That and high speed cornering, at least on the prelude, is sketchy in that you have a lower threshhold of rear wheel traction from the electic motors not being able to hold your wheels still.
If I'm not mistaken, the HICAS system is 100xs better than honda. Don't the R34s have HICAS?

Re: 4ws obsolete?
yea, you are definately right, i remember watching a vid of an r34 with hicas doing a crazy turn, then the same car disabling the hicas and doing the same turn again. i guess we know somehting about why r34's handle so well now =) its got hicas and awd
