91 taurus AXOD-E transmission: Rough shift from 1st to 2nd gear
The shift from 1st to 2nd gear feels kinda rough. I checked the tranny fluid and it's right at the top of the specified range, the fluid is red and does not smell burned. Would a plugged up tranny filter cause this? Should I let out some of the trans oil?

For the low cost of a fluid and filter change it's worth trying, but the problem is most likely a sticking second gear solenoid which means a partial strip down to replace it.
