Angry Tires Screeching. Please help

I noticed this morning, on my way to work, that my tires started screeching. As soon as i start driving, i hear a high pitched sqeal that gets faster, and shorter along with my speed. I'm going to try to look at the undercarriage to see if maybe i might have picked something up on these shotty new england roads, that may be dragging underneath my car. It seems to only be comming from the driver's side, and the tires have been filled to the reccomended pressure setting.

Here are things to check:
1. Does the noise go away or change pitch when you apply the brake? It could be the tattle tail on the brake pad. This is the indicator that the brake pads are getting thin and need replacing.
2. Run your hand across the tread one way and then the other. if it is smooth one way but has feather-edge back the other way, the vehicle may need an alignment or a new bearing.
3. Have the car raised up and check to see if the drivers front tire will roll ( with trans in neutral) - the phenolic piston in the brake caliper may be siezed in the brake caliper (build up of gunk on it not alowing it to float in and out or could be crooked in the caliper due to the pads not wearing evenly). Having the cliper overhauled can help. With the caliper off the bearings can be checked for smoothness too . . . but more than likely it is the caliper.
