Trunk Problems

Are the trunks of 98 eclipses supposed to lift themselves when you pull the trunk release latch? Also when i pull the trunk release latch my trunk pops up some but still stays locked. In order for it to work i would have to pull my trunk up while pulling the latch which is fairly impossible... any ideas anyone?

Re: Trunk Problems

that's how my mine is. I believe that's how it's suppose to be. The alternative is to use the key.

they'll pop but wont lift.

mines actually pops and unlocks on the first pull of the latch.

but I tried that on my friend's 99gsx and I had to pull the latch twice
maybe u get lucky

Re: Trunk Problems

I have to do it twice all the time. And I saw a write up to fix this somewhere you went in and put a bigger spring.

Anyone know where it is..

Re: Trunk Problems

I have to pull mine twice... the shocks in the rear are dying, so that might be why. it's not the end of the world. just tug on it twice... or three times for good luck
