S5 turbo life

how long will the turbo on the S5 TII last? I mean even after you rebuild the engine will the turbo itself have much of a life span left?

Re: S5 turbo life

A turbo life span is like an engine life span... It depends on how its treated... I have seen 100,000 mile + turbos with little shaft play and great spool, and I have seen some that are just slap worn out. Hard driving, prolonged boosting, etc.. All contribute to the eventual demise of your turbo...

Re: S5 turbo life

well I would want one just slightly better, I'd use it to daily drive, drag and autox occasionally, and drag occasionally as well... so I'd guess I'd want it a little bigger but not too much or it would give off mad turbo lag when daily driving

any suggestions? I've heard garret turbos are the way to go...

Re: S5 turbo life

keep the stock turbo, do a racing beat downpipe, additional fuel injector controller, upgrade your secondary injectors, walbro fuel pump and have your ecu remapped by rtek

Re: S5 turbo life

sweet, I'll save this info so I have it when the time comes. Thanks

oh and any suggestions on what injectors to get? I figure 750cc primarys and 850cc secondarys... is this good? and who makes the best or does it matter all that much who makes them?

Re: S5 turbo life

550 primarys and 720 or 780 secondarys. It dosent really matter who makes them but I use Denso or RCs.

With bigger injectors you will still need some fuel control, even with the RTEK ecu upgrade..
