97 Voyager - Electrical problems

If anyone would like to take a stab at this, I'd appreciate it! I'm not getting any help from dealership as they cannot duplicate problems.

1) dash occasionally blanks out completely, then comes back on.
2) spedometer shows incredible speeds then drops back to normal, sometimes while idiling
3) wipers don't like to shut off, especially in cold weather

These are in addition to the numerous electrical problems that did get fixed. Any ideas?

I have the same problems with my 96 Grand Voyager. I sure hope someone responds to this soon!

check the body computer
I recently had similar problems with a 91 caravan and that fixed it for $25 at a salvage yard

ok....

1.connector on the back of the instrument cluster can cause problems like yours that are intermittent.

2. your speedometer problem is related to #1 above, but can also be a loose or bad output speed sensor (on the transmission)

Both 1. and 2. can be caused by the body control computer also.

3. "Ghost Wipers" are an absolutely common problem on these vans. You haven't been lucky enough for them to actually come "on" by themselves yet! There is no permanent fix. It's not the body control module, the combo switch, the main computer, or the "fuse box". It's the park/home slip ring in the wiper motor. If you clean it up, it'll work for another 6 months, and go back to this same symptom. Oddly enough, if you use the wipers a lot, the contacts on the slip ring will keep themselves clean, so:
do like we all do and learn to ignore it, or spend a bunch of money to have it fixed, just to end up with the same problem again!

It's only a minor annoyance. But far better than a bad transmission!

I may be have the same problem (ghost wipers) but now mine are not working at all. leave the switch on for a couple of hours and they may cycle 1 or 2 times . do you think it may be the motor ?

My 98 is doing the same things, It turned out to be the connector on the back of the AC control panel!!!

Check your ignition key switch.Bad points will cause
loos of power for some modules.Try to wiggle a key
when engine is running.
Odher bad spot is wires under a battery tray.Any
acid leak will cause intermittent problems on BUS wiring to body computer.
