Re: Powershifting

Powershifting is when you're at WOT and instead of clutching you just slam the shifter into the next gear. It'll murder your tranny but will give you a lil extra, most cars that are newer models wont let you though, you have to press the clutch to move the shifter on new models.

Re: Powershifting

The only time I would ever powershift would be:
a. I am driving someone to the hospital
b. I am trying to run over George W. Bush

LoL kman!

Power shifting is not something to make a practice of, it destroys your car. However should the situation call for it, it will give you extra 'extra' when you're racing.

They make aftermarket strait cut gears that are intended for that kind of abuse....If youre serious enough about drag racing, you should probably invest in some...the problem wiht them though is they are usually expensive and its shithard to upshift

actually helical cut gears ( standard on manuel transmissions ) are stronger then straight cut gears. the things that goes bad in a car from powershifting is the gear synchronizers, not the gears themselves.

Re: Powershifting

you got it wrong!!!!!!
when you power shift you are a full throttle and you push the clutch in and shift as fast as you can then side step the clutch
there is now way you can shift without the clutch at full throttle unless you have a lentco trans they are made just for that and are not made for imports .they are made for american pro stock
