So if im looking for a ragged B16A to rebuild it really doesnt matter if i get a 1st gen or 2nd gen? I plan on replacing Crank, rods, pistons, and head. maybee even a stroker kit.

Re: Difference between B16A's

The B16B is basically the same as the B18C5, just destrked to 1.6L.

As far as differences between the B16A's, the electronics are different, and the trannies. On the 1st gen, the thermostat housing is different, but other than that, they are basically the same. Cams, and pistons are spec'ed a little different, giving the 92+ JDM ones about 10 more hp.

Re: Difference between B16A's

dude i have a 92-95 ex computer chipped with a mugen chip in my civic, with my b16a and it gave my b16a alot of noticeable horsepower, as in being able to chirp 2nd and third and being able to redline at 9,000 rpms

Should have been able to chirp 2nd and 3rd anyway, and have fun revving to 9000 on a B16A valvetrain (while it last)
