Hello Everyone, I am considering getting a 92 SSE. The main problem that concerns me right now is after it sets a day or two without being started it smokes for a few minutes
.The smoke has a really nasty smell to it too. My b/f thinks it might be running too rich, he says it has a fuel smell to the smoke. It does need a tune up badly. It is a white looking smoke that smells funny. I know it's not an oil smoke. I hope this doesn't sound dorky, but what kind of smell does a water smoke have? I am worried that it might have a bad head gasket or worse! It doesn't seem to get hot when it runs or gets drove. The oil looks ok too, not milky looking.I have a 91 Beretta and am thinking about trading it for the Bonneville because it's alot bigger and I have 2 kids. Please any advice will be appreciated! This car has also been sitting for about 6 months before I brought it home. Thanks in advance, Maria |

Re: Smoking in 92 SSE Please Help!
if it is water(antifreeze ) it will smell like a sweet smell, you can tell if it is gas it will have a rich unburned gasy smell, gas has a black color to it and water has a white color, and oil will have a blue color to it hope that this will help some.
