keep factory head unit

I recently got a system for my 95 aurora. I want to keep the head unit so I can still have the controls on my steering wheel, however I cannot seem to get an rca signal strong enough from my bose radio. I cannot use the 6x9's because I have a stock amplifier hooked up to it. If someone can help me out I would appreciate it.

Re: keep factory head unit

screw the steering controls. Get a nice unit with a remote and a flip out screen. Cooooollll!!!! I went through that, "I WANT ME STEERING CONTROLS" Til I said "SCREW IT".

Thats what I am getting too, but I have a 12 disk cd changer too. There is no way to find a non-amplified rca signal?

Re: keep factory head unit

There will be certain things you will have to live without if you get an aftermarket system. The DIC wont work the same, and you lose the wheel control. Mind you, I like the bone stock system I have, Bose Acoustimass is just fine for me.

If you can live without the stock options then by all means. Go aftermarket!

A friend suggested that I hook up the rca converter to my stock subwoofer. Will this work?

Re: keep factory head unit

The date feature on the DIC no longer works once an aftermarket HU is installed...or so goes the rumour
