ECU question

alright i have a 1993 honda civic, but its a automatic, anyways im running a non-vtec engine and im only 16 and my dad wont let me swap, but i was wondering if i got a chip if that would help gain a little HP and also if it would change the rev limit. can someone explain if this would help my auto or not, thanks

auto or manual doesnt matter when you are asking about engine mods
