Cruise Control Trouble shooting

I have a 1998 GS with a 5 speed. The cruise does not work at all. Please give me some trouble shooting steps to try to locate the problem.

Thanks

Re: Cruise Control Trouble shooting

Check the connector at the actuator. On a 2g its on the pass shock tower, by the fuse box. Also be sure the switch at the top of the clutch pedal travel is being activated. If that switch isnt being made, the cruise system will think the clutch pedal is in, and wont allow it to work. For years I had to lift the clutch pedal with my toe just a smidge, so it would activate. Then I got off my lazy ass and adjusted it.

If the cruise light on the dash isnt even coming on when you hit the cruise pwoer button (not the set button or any of those on the wheel, the one on the corner of the dash), then something else is wrong, and is beyond my knowledge of the system. I shitcanned cruise a long time ago... Good luck.
