hi, I really need some help here, every morning when I start the car after its been sitting over night, it takes numbers of attemps to start, the starter turns but just not starting, after trying it for 4 or 5 times it starts then, but tonight i went out and the car only been sitting out for 4 hours, it took 3 attemps of turning the kep, then the 4th times, it starts, and when it finally starts up, the smell of patrol is very stronge!and also when I got it started, I stand outside the car and rev it, it sounded like theres a hole somewhere on the exhaust underneath the car, but its hard to tell seens the last owner got a dual exit ractive exhaust one on each side that is split from under the car, plus that when I drive the car sometimes when I try to accelerate hard or even just try to drive at low rev to keep it at 30mph on 3rd gear it feels like as if it was miss firing! can someone tell me what might the problem be please!!!

hmm
Sound like alot of things are happening at once, which is probably the result of one thing messing up (don't you just love how that happens in bmws!!?) anyway, you might need new spark plugs, thats just a guess tho, take your car to any mechanic that is Bosch certified. Don't go to a dealer, and to go to anyone that IS NOT Bosch cert.

Re: 92 318is cold start problem
hi, thanks for the reply, I found out these things today,
I changed the plugs, and found out one of the lead is wrap in insulatant type, so maybe thats why i get this miss firing, got new leads ordered, the lights on the dash for the abs and pads, I found out the pins in the break fluid container is not making any contact, but when they do, those lights remain on and also the handbreak light stays on all the time too!and when I change the oil found out that the dip stick is not in fully, when I have that pushed it fully, the funny idle is gone! have you any ideas whats left I need to do? thanks |
