Finished: Volvo 850 BTCC Saloon

Tamiya 1/24 kit. I finished it ~2 years ago. I want to go back and panel line it. Let me pose a question first...If a panel line on a 1/24 car is at a MINIMUM of 1mm in width, does this mean a 1/1 panel line is 24mm, or almost 1" wide???? That's a fat gap on a real door panel. Anyway check out the Volvo!

yeah, yeah it's vaseline

300zx seat

It raced in the BTCC(British Touring Car Championship). They also raced an Estate wagon which Tamiya also did.

Yes maybe that's the reason why panel lines are SO hard to do on a 1/24 car. it's either too dark/thick or you can't see it at all.

Good build btw!

Re: Finished: Volvo 850 BTCC Saloon

I think its excellent! Great detailing on the wheel/brake hub, excellent smooth paint and the color is outstanding. I especially like the detailing of the rear light cluster. That must have been very difficult masking job

Glad you like the 850!
Pug- The color is Tamiya TS-23 Light Blue I think.
IImportSupra-This the Tamiya BTCC race car kit, so it came with that ride height. I did not cover it with the race livery. I'll post the Estate version(red) tonight!
SLK230-Thanks! I think I cheated on the rear light cluster as I beleive the center section is supposed to be body color. Oh well th eblack looks kind of cool.
Stisnan/Mike-Ahh the third pic...I try to limit it's use for making those Tamiya wheels spin freely in the brake rotor...uhhh yeah that's what's mostly for
