99 corolla mods or diff car?

well i have a 99 corolla low mileage around 35k i got from my gram for free along with 11 grand its an automatic which i do not like at all its not worth puting mods into if an auto i think cause if it gets to much horsepower im going to be going to fuck my tranny up everytime i go to screw around so im wondering think i should just fix it up or sell it and by a different car and fix that up im low on cash so i i did get a different car it would have to be around 11000 plus the money i get for trade in so what you thnk i should do?

i have a suggestion. throw in a celica gts motor and tranny, and there you go you have a like 60 more hp and a 6 speed which will give u a decent sleeper once u do some more mods.

i say keep it, have somehtiung different and a cavalier is a really stupid idea i think.

Lightbulb Stay w/ corolla

I would stay with the corolla.
REASONS:

1. a neon srt-4 is 23K w/ about 150 hp
2. a lancer is 20K w/ about 125 hp
3. a cavaler is 20K w/ about 125 hp
4. the corolla has about 130 hp and more potential with more available upgrades.
5. you would get about 6k for a trade-in value
6. it costs less than 2k to get a 5-speed swap
7. a turbo for a corolla is less than 3k ( I personally found one on ebay for 1.5K but didn't have the cash to purchase it )
8. STOCKWISE, the COROLLA w/ a 5 speeder can outrun all the other cars you listed

BTW... if u did wanted to get the 2zz-ge installed w/ the 6 speed tranny it would cost about 3 to 4K but you only get 190 HP
If u opt for the stock engine w/ a turbo, you'd get the same HP but still have the same QUICK response of the 1zz-fe

THE CHOICE IS YOURS.

PS:

the cavalier is a POS compared to a Corolla

i was thinking in about a year and a half when that corollas got quite alot of miles if i should get a sentra spec v used with that 11 k and the trade in money fix that up nice but then again that corolla will go for alot longer then considering it has 35k miles on it

Re: 99 corolla mods or diff car?

the cavelier is a POS, i know a few people faking happyness with them all the way to the repair shop.

SRT-4 puts 215hp at the wheels, but whose got money for a new car.
Your 99 corolla puts out about 110hp but with that tourque converter in there, maybe 100hp at the wheels (i'm being optomistic i have a 2000 auto, VVTi helps the 2000 out, a little bit).

the trany swap would be a good start, if you find it for a decent price go ahead and have the shop put a Phantum Grip LSD conversion into it. (i've read a couple good reviews in the past, nothing bad, and it'll cost you about $300)

I'm not too sure about that spec-V the American division of Nissan has a problem with droping truck engines into its cars and calling them "sports cars" they did it with the 240sx, sr20det swaps only happen in america, the rest of the world gets it from the factory.

but anyway, unless you can use that 11k to step into a 2001 5-speed "S". you should just stay with what you have, at 35k miles and being a Toyota you'll have no worries from your corolla.

Maybe you should ask grandma for some more cash so you can get a Corvette. Its a free car, you asshole. Thats really disrespectful. Besides, having a car that doesnt have alot of aftermarket stuff is a good challenge. If you dont wnt a challenge, get a Honda.

As a matter of opinion, when you modify your car noticably, you but a giant bullseye on it saying "Come rip me off!". Why do you think Acuras and Hondas are 8 out of the top 10 cars to be stolen?
