Unhappy Engine Shakes

I just noticed that my engine shakes when I turn off my car. Right after I turn the key you will hear it shake from the driver seat Motor mounts maybe?? I really have no idea!

Thanks guys o and gal

EDIT>>> I just had someone else turn the car off and it it is the engine that is shaking and it looks pretty bad to me

Re: Re: Engine Shakes

that seems kinda high for an idle... mine warm is like 300-500 [different gauges and 1/4 inch off will make a 200 rpm diff!] but it is a turbo too and i dunno about the 420a idle speeds...

its most likely your gas... you probably go some shitty gas in your car causing it to combust under the heat of the chamber! run some higher octane thru there and it should solve that problem...

as for 1stgenrocks question... no they do not have an engine brake! the only motors that have engine brakes are Semi's and big trucks cause they use them to slow the truck down instead of wearing out the brakes really quick! thats the weird noise you hear when a semi is slowing down, its called a Jake Brake!

Re: Engine Shakes

Yea I think the idle is high but it has been like that since I bought it so I don't think it is related.

I used 92 octane in my car last time and that is what is in there right now. How could the gas cause the engine to shake.

Also I started to notice that when I take a right turn it makes shaking/rattling noise from the engine. This is scaring me

Re: Engine Shakes

basically an engine brake is a cover that when you pull a lever or push a button it covers a part of the exhaust slowing the engine down, causeing the tranny to slow the vehicle down! hope that helps!
