4.3 L Granatelli MAF Sensor

I need some help trying to install p/n 350116 mass airflow sensor from granatelli which is designed for 1996-2003 s-10/s-15 4.3 stock engines. If anyone has already done this, and I am sure they have, please give me a heads up. I am fairly new to doing upgrades so try to keep the lingo in lehman's terms.
The problem I am having is that the airflow sensor is too wide of a diameter to fit with the stock inlet tubing. They did provide me with a 4 inch piece of tubing which involves a bit of manipulation (the tech guy from granatelli told me to use a hairdryer to help it expand) in order to get it to fit around the lip on the inlet tube.
