Question 4 cly. 8 plugs

why does a 4 cly. have 8 plugs

having the extra 4 plugs gives you better milege and more performance because there is more spark, so more of the gas in the cylinder is combusted, and there is more force for each cycle of combustion...pretty smart idea huh.

yes, the one plug fires on tdc on compression (timing advanced etc) the other one fires on exhaust to minimize the unburned fuel in the combustion chamber. It aids in performance and economy. This way, the fuel that comes in doesn't mix with the crappy residue..
