Whenever I see automobile crash tests, the side airbag is deployed from the top of the side window and protects the driver's head. But the Z3 airbag is located behind a panel above the door's armrest.
So when the Z3 side airbag deploys, what is its shape? Does it inflate upwards to protect the driver's head? Or does it just protect the side of the driver's body? Welfarebum. |

Re: Z3/Z4 Side Airbag Shape?
The one coming from the top is HPS not the side airbag. the side airbag only protects the body from a side impact. the z car does not have head protection system.

Re: Re: Z3/Z4 Side Airbag Shape?
No head protection???!!! What's the point of side airbags if your head isn't protected? I feel really comforted knowing that my kidneys will be protected even though my head will have cracked open and splattered my brain all over an impacting SUV's hood. I'm disappointed... I thought I had head protection.
