Re: Starter just clicks
Why Did Put On The New Starter This May Be Part Of The Problem....or ....your "new" Starter May Be A Defect....

I pulled the cables and checked for resistance and continuity.Checked out good.I checked voltage at the starter and it was only 10.5,also at the bolt on the battery.I cleaned the cable lugs to bare metal and still only 10.5. Should'nt the starter still turn at 10.5?

Re: Starter just clicks
It The Starter Is Clicking And You Have 10.5 Volts At The Starter , You Have A Bad Starter.

Re: Starter just clicks
Check ALL connection plus battery power. If that’s not it your NEW starter is done for.

Re: Starter just clicks
well one of the six battery cells might be dead, causing the reading to only be 10 instead of 12. i heard that even with the 10 volts, thats not quite enough to turn the starter. i would use a battery you know is good from a different car and see if it works then. if so, then get a battery at autozone or something, ive seen them here in omaha nebraska as low as 30 bucks and some over 100.
