How could you make a front tube frame?
Hows it goin?
I know I haven't been on much lately, far too many things happening. But I ask a question, how could I make a front tube frame or just a new front frame for my Superbee? I'm uh, doing it up a little bit and need a new front frame, the old one had far too little in the way of detail, suspension wise. I'd like to make a front frame that can run right up along the back of the front bumper and be able to house new-style suspension with poseable steering. I have two original cross members and can use either the Superbee one or a Roadrunner item, each of which house the engine I'm shoving in there quite well, perfectly in fact. So, anyone carried out this type of build before? I have some left over frames from old models and some alloy tube, but I think the tube is around 1mm too big. I can take any photos needed. Thanks if you can help, will really come in handy for future custom built models too

Re: How could you make a front tube frame?
why not just buy a pro stock model and
borrow the front clip it would work i did it for a 79 camaro model i did or you can do it the hard way and use evergreen plastic rod. real tube car's have a lot of odd bend's in the tubing witch could be hard to recreate |

There's also aluminum and brass tubing. That works very well for creating chassis provided you have a soldering iron.

Re: How could you make a front tube frame?
Thats the thing though, I only need a front frame, as you'd know a Superbee has a front and rear sub-frame section, not a full frame. So I can't exactly solder it on, I'm thinking about what to do, might make it from a few plastic frames I have lying around.
I don't have enough cash to buy a kit at the moment Still unemployed.

i use styrene tube to make my frames, it works very well for me. i'm not sure what you want to make though, do you just want to replace the stock clip for a more detialed one or do you want it for more engine or tire clearance? is there going to be a big differnce in ride hight from stock? i just dont know if your going for a stock look but just more detial or if your going custom? hope i make sence.

just saw your thread, your going pro street, so styrene tube is always good for me in these kind of builds. just mesure right and bend right and you shouldent have many problems, just make sure you leave enough room for tires and engine, on my frames i have wide tires all the way around so i have very little room for and engine. since it is a prostreet you will probely be useing skinnys up front, right? if so then you should have engine clearance problems. i hope i could help you in any way.
