help with key ingniton

i have a 89 hatch, and can not seem to find the right ingniton for it. the one from all the auto part stores is not long enough. anybody else had this problem. the reason I am replacing it is because when I start the car and let go of the key the car dies. the key wont stay in the start position. thanks.

Re: help with key ingniton

you will probably need to go to the dealer or junkyard.

Me too, but in my case, the root cause turned out to be the alarm system... So if you have one, try disconnecting the alarm and try starting the car... Worth a shot, and it's an easy thing to check (not to mention free).
