83 sentra

i just bought an 83 sentra and it accelerates horribly slow. i dont know alot about cars, so if anybody can give me some advice on how to make it a lil faster i would really apreciate it....

maybe start off by the exhaust! it will at least ake your car breathe better! not much you can do to those engines tho..

carburetion is part of it, but make sure the timing belt is set right as well as engine timing. If it sat awhile, some top quality fuel system cleaner would probably help as well. When the motor is warmed up, make sure there isn't a lot of slack in the throttle cable. If it's automatic, add a can of B&M Trick Shift, but it won't help the car being automatic. Lower profile tires (not as tall) will act like putting lower gears in the axle and perk it up too. A high flow catalytic converter helps (If the old one fell apart, it will clog up the muffler like a potato in the tailpipe, just like you see in that movie with Eddie Murphy playing Axel Foley. Hollywood Cop? I forget)
