What are the basic mods for $1000 for a dx 93 hatchback?

What are the first mods, i should start out with, and which ones will give me the most hp? I was thinking, CAI, Exhaust, injectors, fuel rail, ignition system and maybe new plugs and wires? sound good?

that would probably be the most cost efficient besides going with N20.

Re: What are the basic mods for $1000 for a dx 93 hatchback?

intake, header, exhaust, cam gear, camshaft

those are the things you want to look into. You can always get bigger injectors but think twice . . . if you plan to stay all motor or not because if you think you're not then you can always get some 440cc injectors and turn them down so you an have oen thing ready for boost, otherwise you can get some 310cc injectors and be all good

I went to the place you linked me to, thanks alot, there was sooo much info there, it was great. The only thing i couldn't get to was the thing about double clutching, what is it? How do you do it, and is it better than regular shifting?

Re: What are the basic mods for $1000 for a dx 93 hatchback?

no need to double clutch. That's why tranny's have synchros. If your synchros are going bad, then it's a good idea to double clutch to save wear on them. But basically it's clutch in, put in neutral, clutch out, then clutch in, put into gear and then proceed as normal. And it's only useful when you downshift.

$1000 and your car as a trade-in would make a nice down payment on a car that will actually go fast.

Re: What are the basic mods for $1000 for a dx 93 hatchback?

I don't really plan on keeping the 108hp beast in there for too long, lol. Although, i'm getting ready to leave for the summer, and i can't take my car with me, so i'm just gonna do some stuff now so it'll be a bit faster than it already is. When i get back, i'm gonna use my graduation money to slap in either a b16a, or i might get a wild hair and go for the h22a swap. Whichever one i can get for the cheapest. Is there any way to keep the A/C and the power steering when doing a h22 swap, cause if there is, i think that's what i'm gonna do. Sleeper, he we come, well, in two or three months, haha.

I don't think there is a way to keep your AC and power steering with the h22a swap. If you plan on swapping later on, save your money or if you have the mod bug bad, work on suspension. You want to keep moving forward with your mods, not backwards.
