Quick question about underbody lights

Hey guys, I just bought some street glow underbody lights for my '04 Civic. The guy that put them on for me could not get the tubes out of view. He put them up as far as he could. If you look at the car you can see the bottom of the two side tubes. What should I do to keep those out of view? Something not too expensive. I do not want to buy a $600 body kit so what is something cheaper? Where could I find the parts?Any help would be appreciated.

Um, either cut long holes out of your floorboards and stuff them in there or get some sideskirts. Other than that, you could cover them with flaps of cardboard or something.

Re: Quick question about underbody lights

well i'd put side skirts on there but if you dont wanna spend money on them then your best option is to get hold of some very thin sheet metal, about 1mm (print companies use it for signs and stuff). Mould it around the shape of the light and fix it with self tapping screws or something. that way you cant see the actual light tube and the metal reflects the light so it looks brighter too.

Hope it works out well for ya,,,,,,........,,,,,,.!,.,

Re: Quick question about underbody lights

I think i can answer this one for ya my friend tried it out and it works surprisingly well...

cut a peice of tin foil the length of ur tube and fold it until it is only wide enough to go halfway around the tube, then use tape to secure the foil onto the outside of the bulb, use plenty of tape...

Advantages: Tin foil is reflective so u wont loose as much light as if u were to just tape off half the bulb. At night u cant see the bulbs under the car but it still glows onto the street OK

Disadvantages: At night the glow wont be quite as bright onto the street as if u hadnt covered them. Durring the daytime, the tin foil can be seen and obviously looks cheap

But then again not just buying a body kit is cheap so its actually a good representation
