Timing
I'm working on an 84 with the 2.5 and I need help from sombody finding a metal timing gear. I want to replace the fiber gear on the cam with a metal gear so if any body has a clue where to find one I could really use the help.

Re: Timing
I thought replacement camshaft gear is all metal now?
I went to Autozone and they gave me an all metal camshaft on most vehicle's camshaft that I've replaced. |

Re: Timing
2.5L Timing gears are legendary for wearing out and making noises. GM Performance Parts makes a heavy duty all metal set shown here : http://www.gmgoodwrench.com/gmgoodwr...443§ion=ep
You can get a price and order this part at any participating Chevy/Buick/Pontiac/Olds/Cadillac Dealer. There is a neat dealer locator on the page, just enter your zip code. *Note: Only GM new car dealers are allowed to retail these(performance)parts. I think it's to avoid the same conterfeit parts problems that plagued AC/Delco .

Rusty unibodies need not apply. 74-79 Ramcharger or 100, slant or no motor - not interested in v8 - Overdrive 4 is a big plus, NO hopeless rust buckets!!! 3Rd gen F body floor pans/camaro door skin (L) Why is it I see so many "Proud to be an American" bumper stickers on the backs of cars made in Japan or Korea??????
