1989 Jeep Cherokee 4.0 Rough Idle Problem

Ok so I just bought a 1989 Jeep Cherokee 4.0 automatic, and it runs like a champ, but it idles very rough and sometimes seems like its going to die, and sounds pretty bad too. But sounds great and runs great once you start driving it, but will idle rough again once you come to a stop. Its runs like that when i first start it up and even after it been driven around for awhile so it doesnt seem to have anything to do with comeing to temperature, but every once in awhile it will idle nice and smooth especaily if ive just pulled off the freeway or something?

Any Ideas will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Just curious but have you done a compression test on your vehical? The more I get into this new truck them more it looks like I have a bad ring, or a leaking head gasket, because it almost seems to be missing at low RPMs, also there is oil in everything all the lines and the air box all the, and it leaks oil pretty bad too. ANd the previous person just changed the Cap, rotor, and wires. But like I said it runs like a champ im confused and im going to do a compression test this weekend and check the TPS like DALE said thanks for the info DALE. I hope this thing works out I bought it hoping I could just drive it, because I already have 1 project vehical.

OK so I compression tested my truck and heres what i got
6=155
5=130
4=150
3=135
2=110
1=105

Does anyone see a problem with these reading? And it seems to run better now that I have cleaned and replaced some of the vacume lines, i think im going to replace all of them.

It still burns oil too.
