Closer ratios?

I have a euro civic vti (b16a stock) and i would like to know if it's possible to improve the stock gear ratios by swapping parts from other Honda models. i would like to hear anyones suggestions as to what to go for. Basically i think the stock ratios could be shorter and closer together and so improving acceleration.

thanks.

Re: Closer ratios?

I believe you can use a Type R final drive, that would help acceleration. Also, look for a Type R LSD, it'll help out handling and put power to both wheels.

Can you use the whole transmission of the Type-R on the SOHC Honda Civics?

Re: Closer ratios?

You may be able to pull the gears out of the ITR tranny and stick them in your D though. Never heard of it being done or even attempted, but it might work. Never know.
