Question Not starting right.

Hey whats up guys i have another problem.

My car is having some trouble starting. Not all the time but maybe 1 or 2 times a day.

I noticed If I press the gas slightly the car will start everytime with very little hesitation.
But if the Gas is not depressed it wont start. Like I said it doesnt happen everytime but I noticed that everytime the car wont start it just so happens that it happens when I do not depress the gas pedal.

What do you guys think It could be?

How do I clean the injectors?
I mean really clean them like take them off and clean them I know how to take the fuel rail off and all that but do not know if there is some type of liquid I can buy to clean them once they are off.

Any Ideas......

Re: Not starting right.

Is the car warm or cold?? It could be a fuel problem. I think the car runs richer when it is first started (cold) and therefore requires more fuel. Do you have any mods, have you changed anything recently, mileage, do you do all of your scheduled maintence (plugs, wires, fuel filter...etc)??? As for the cleaning, BG makes induction cleaning solvents that you can pick up at your local autoparts store. You could try something like that (I think it's a 2 part system. One gets sucked in the throttle body and the other goes in the gas tank). Hope that helps.

Only Mod I have enginewise is a CAI.

It seems to be when the car is cold. If the car is warm or if I restart it after a drive shes fine no problems. But after I drive it if I let it sit for more then an hour or so she has trouble starting.

Yeah I am up to par on all maintenance. I have done everything. New-Oil,filter,plugs,wires,t-belt,t-belt tensioner, idler pulley, water pump, power steering belt alternator belt...Everything. Everything is brand new.

Where do you think I can pick up the BG stuff your talking about? I am always in the local AutoZone and I have never seen it. Should I try a pepboys or maybe advance auto parts?

Re: Not starting right.

I normally buy it through my mechanic (he gets me all my parts for dirt cheap ). I've seen it sold online in different places, but I don't remember where. Probably just best to call around. Wait....here it is

http://www.bgprod.com/bgdistloc/body.php

Go there and punch in your information and it will tell you where the closest distributor is!

Good luck!!

Thanks I found a place about 25 mins from me. I will try it out and see what I can come up with.

Re: Not starting right.

Hope that solves your problem. But before you do that, you may want to wait for some of the other guys to get on here and respond to your question. I am still learning and they may have some better troubleshooting tips. Let me know how it works out.

Re: Not starting right.

Sounds like a fuel problem to me. Try some seafoam in your gas tank or you can get a pressurized fuel injector service for about $65

Re: Not starting right.

when you put on your cai did you keep the mass air sensor? if you didnt (or if the plug isnt tight) the computer just treats it like the air coming in is 77degrees
