Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you ***the KENZO***

Here's my entry in the custom contest - the Kenzo.
These are the first pics I got before the camera batteries died. More pics to come, including shots of the engine compartment.

This custom is constructed from a Ferrari Modena body, engine, and chassis, a Dodge Viper top, and a custom hood and front end patterned after the Alfa Romeo Competitione show car. The wheels are from a Mercedes DTM car. The headlights, tail lights, and the gas filler cap were turned on a lathe. The headlight covers were made using Squadron thermaform plastic sheet. The Modena engine is moved to the front. The gearbox left in the rear. The interior is from the Viper, with Modena seats and center console.

Overall, I think the design is pleasing to the eye. The back end does end too abrupt. I thought about moving the back wheel forward some and making a more defined rear fender, but that was early in the project and I wanted to get things going. This is my most extensive customizing job using new techniques (lathe, Squadron Thermaform). I tried to make some photoetched scripts for the body using the font shown on the license plate, but that didnt work well due to the narrow width of the lines forming the letters. Perhaps in the future I will find a way to make some nice scripts.

Wow!

Absolutely Awesome job! the turned parts really make for great finishing touches. I like the fact that from almost every angle you look, you think you see a styling cue from some other car, but then again, you're not really sure.
I do like the fact that you're critical of your design choices, something ONLY the builder can do in my opinion. Submit your pics to the Scale Auto custom car contest and see what Mark Gustavson has to say about it and you'll understand what I mean.

Again, kick a$$ job, look forward to your next project!
