Re: 2001 remove steering wheel

Hi, This is my first reply. Disconnect battery. Next you must first disable the air bag (SRS) before you do anything. You have dual air bags. The air bag can go off with the battery disconnected so be careful. The connectors are bright yellow, and can't be missed. Make sure the ignition is off, and the wheels are straight ahead. You need to remove the panel below the steering wheel. Remove the blue connector (Connector Product Assurance CPA) which is holding the yellow connectors together. Its more like a pin. When it is removed, seperate yellow connector. Its at the base of the steering wheel. Do the same thing for the passenger side. . Remove passenger kick panel. Remove air bag fuse. Remove screws from behind and remove inflator. Remove nut from steering wheel, mark the alignment to the shaft, and use a steering wheel puller to remove.
Hope this helps...............
