1993 Roadmaster code63 anti-lock light
Wife's 1993 Roadmaster anti-lock light stays on MOST of the time(code63)My scanner says code63 is the Valve Relay
Circuit.Called many Dealers & was asked what is a Valve Relay. Then was told there was either a 6 pin relay or a 4 pin relay & that MIGHT fix it.WELL there are both & they are Bosch Relays. They want $60.00 each & no return,2 much $$ 4 something that might work.the Brake pedel pulsates when I do a PANIC stop.TOLLD this is Normal. This is an on going problem for many years! Brakes seem to work OK.The Light drives me Goofy when I drive IT.She has put up with it since 1993 when we bought it.When it was NEW she took IT 2 the Dealer & the Light wasn't on(of course) when I clear the code IT stays OUT for a Week or Maybe a Day.Sometimes IT goes off by IT's self.I put shoes & Pads on it (after) the Light started coming on. I really don't want 2 use Black tape 2 cover it,but am almost 2 that point.. (kidding) Any help would probably ADD years 2 my life.THANKS - Marvin |

Re: 1993 Roadmaster code63 anti-lock light
Try buying a relay from a junk yard? I've bought engine computers (for doing OBD-II development work) for $15 to $35, depending on the manufacturer. Dealer wanted $600 for the one I paid $15 for.
Pulsing on the pedal is normal for any ABS system I've had experience with. What you're feeling is the ABS pump running, and the modulation to the calipers/wheel cylinders. It's designed so you CAN tell the ABS is running. --jc |
