Question engine swap question

i have a 2000 ext cab ranger with a 3.0 v6, i was just wondering what would be the best engine to swap that out with. should i put the 4.0 v6 in there? and is it possible to put a honda accord v6 in my truck and if so is it worth it?

if you want to swap in a bigger motor, go with the 4.0 v6, or if you want a v8, a 5.0 (AKA 302) - these are the most popular swaps. check out www.jamesduff.com and www.therangerstation.com for swapping info. You can't put the accord v6 in there. First of all, that is sacreligious, and second of all, the accord is a front drive car, and the ranger is rear drive. It could be done, but it would cost a shit load of money and hundreds of hours and a few thousand dollars... if you're lucky... you would have to redesign the entire engine since the accord enine runs on to half shafts, not an output shaft

Re: engine swap question

well, the 5.0 conversion kit is abt $1,000, you could get a junkyard 5.0 from a mustang with computer and all the correct sensor wires and brackets at a great discount from buying everything new and have one hell of a trk
