Re: Octane booster?

It increases you Octane by 7 points, so if you run 94, then that makes it 94.7, totally worthless.

Re: Octane booster?

high octane fuel takes more to ignite it. like when your running boost or nos or whatever with too low of octane the fuel can ignite b 4 its posed to and causes detonation.. basically bye bye engine.. has to do with compression i think.. im not completly sure but i think its sumthin like dat

Re: Octane booster?

well its not really wether its better or not.. its wether u need it or not.. higher compression = higher octane... so like a turbo car needs it.. on the other hand i remember my dad used to have a shitty lil cougar that ran like shit on everything but 87... so its not always better to use higher..

Re: Octane booster?

Octane is the level of anti knock characteristics.
Knock inside the engine is caused by detonation or pre-ignition and usually one can cause the other.

Higher octane allows you to run more advanced timing, more boost or a leaner mixture before you start running into detonation.

For a stock DSM 92+ is recommended for best performance. But if you run lower octane the ECU will adjust until it no longer reads excessive knock.
