Unhappy 94 Bonneville SSEi ABS/Traction problem...help desperately needed!!

I am the owner of a '94 Pontiac Bonneville with over 200,000 miles. It has recently developed a problem with my ABS system. My ABS light will come on, as well as my Traction Off light...at times there will be a grinding/buzzing sound which seems to be coming from the motor, and then my brake pedal will lock up for a fraction of a second under my foot. The brakes themselves don't seem to be locking on the car, just the brake pedal. I'm not sure if the Traction Off light has anything to do with this or not. I read on another forum that this might have something to do with a code for a sensor or something for the ABS system, and may cost upwards of $750...YIKES!!! It doesn't happen all the time, but it is becoming more frequent.

Unfortunately, this is the only car I have right now, but with this many miles I really don't want to put that kind of money into it...does anyone out there have any information about this problem which might be useful? Even if it's bad news, I need to know.

Thanks and God Bless.

It is likely your wheel speed sensors, they perform functions for both ABS and traction control. I would suspect a loose wire, or you may need to replace the sensors

I've got a '95 SSEi with 150K, and ever since I got it, neither the traction control nor the ABS has worked. and this has presented absolutly no problems. On wet roads it can be a slightly bigger challenge to accelerate without slippage, but as far as the ABS goes, so long as you remember you pulse the pedal when stopping in snow or whatever, i would just suggest getting rid of the ABS given the mileage on your car.

Pull the abs fuse this will disable the abs system and the brakes will work just fine. The abs won't control them anymore you will.
